Harvesting
To ensure quality, only trained and certified local harvesters
are employed to pick the noni fruit. This is important because a trained eye knows
the correct picking time when the fruits’ nutrients will be preserved. 35% of the
fruit is picked from noni fruit orchards while 65% is harvested from wild trees
in the Tahitian Islands. TNI employs thousands of families from the Tahitian Islands
to do the harvesting, washing and shipping of the raw fruit. Once the fruit is picked
it is inspected before being carefully placed in plastic liners, sealed, and put
into drums. They are then shipped to the main processing plant in Mataiea Tahiti.
Upon arrival, the information of where and who harvested the fruit is written down
as part of the quality control system. By doing this Tahitian Noni
International is able to track (using a code on the bottle) where the
fruit was picked and everything that happened to it all the way to the bottling
stage.
Processing
A specially built processing plant used only for noni fruit
was built in Mataiea which is able to extract the seeds from the noni fruit. Once
this is done the fruit is reduced to puree. The seeds are saved. Later the oil is
extracted from them. Next the puree is pasteurized according to the American Food
& Drug Administration and the Good Manufacturing Practices approved processes. Pasteurization
is important for food safety sake. Tahitian Noni International
with its stringent process, ensures both high quality and food safety standards
are used throughout the processing system. The puree is then packed into chilled
large totes and shipped to the Tahitian Noni International
bottling plants in Utah, USA, Fukuoka Japan and Shanghai China.
Shipping
Once the pasteurized noni puree is packed in the chilled
totes and sealed, a notation is made in the record accompanying the batch. When
it arrives at the bottling plan the tote will be unsealed and the puree will be
retested for safety and purity.
Testing
Quality control is an important part of the making of TAHITIAN NONI® Juice. Your bottle of
TAHITIAN NONI® Juice is tracked from the harvesting
of the fruit to the capped bottle. Information and test results are recorded every
step of the way. Another form of testing is done at the Tahitian Noni Research facility.
Here research is done on the noni fruit, seeds, and leaves to learn more of the
health benefits as well as how best to protect and manufacture noni products without
losing any of these benefits. A great deal of work and research is done by scientists
and technicians alike.
Manufacturing
A small amount of concentrated natural grape and blueberry
juice is added to the noni puree according to the Tahitian Noni
proprietary formula. It is pasteurized once more due to the added ingredients then
poured into sterilized green glass bottles. A cap and a gold coloured plastic seal
is placed over the cap and top part of the bottle to ensure safety and add to its
beauty. As mentioned earlier, a code is printed on the bottle which can be used
to tell where the fruit was harvested and all the information about the quality
testing along the manufacturing process.
Raw noni is so strong in taste and odor that it is unpalatable
to most people. This is one of the reasons that Tahitian Noni International
adds grape and blueberry concentrate to the noni puree. In fact both blueberries
and grapes are known for their high antioxidant value and mixed with the noni puree
increases the antioxidant value of TAHITIAN NONI® Juice
synergistically. TAHITIAN NONI® Equine Essentials™ is
another product derived from the noni puree. In the same way that
TAHITIAN NONI® Juice is tracked through its process from fruit to bottle,
the same is true of TAHITIAN NONI® Equine Essentials™
including the pasteurization, the testing and the stamping of the code on the plastic
container. The exception with it is the safety standards followed are according
to feed safety standards.
Tahitian Noni International makes other products from the
noni leaves, seeds, fruit puree and the noni juice. Some of these products include
oils, teas, preserves, facial and body products. These are produced in the American, Japanese and Chinese Tahitian Noni International
plants with standards that exceed any of the countries’ standards in which the products
are sold. Every Tahitian Noni International product
is labeled according to the standards of the country in which they are sold. The
European Union and United States provide high quality standards that are followed
even if the processing plant is in China, Japan or in United States itself.
Tablets, Capsules and other Noni Products
Other companies who have seen the success of
Tahitian Noni International have dehydrated and packaged noni in tablets
and capsules. It is uncertain what effect dehydration has on healthful properties
of the noni fruit. This is why Tahitian Noni International
has continued using a mechanized version of the traditional methods used by the
early French Polynesians. Although it is more technologically challenging, the result
has been a superior nutritional supplement known the world over.
Benefits
Tahitian Noni International
is the leading producer of noni products. Through research they have seen the amazing
health benefits of the noni fruit, leaves and seeds in their purest form. As people
have experienced these healthy benefits, the popularity of Tahitian
Noni products has grown around the world.
